"As a result
of his grounding and background he (Starcke) was able to understand and conceptualize
the various myths of the world and what is unique in the Christian tradition.
He begins with an insightful introduction to the spiritual roots of the Judeo-Christian
teachings and addresses the area that has given rise to their duality and
the dogma the has manifested as a result. The division came between those
who understood the teachings intuitively and on a spiritual level known as
the Gnostics or mystics and those who related to the teachings on an objective
, material level which he calls the traditionalists. Basically the traditionalists
formed the Church and edited out text and gospels to suit their beliefs and
exiled those that clung to their mystical beliefs.
Rather than being a book that condemns one faction at the expense of the other,
Walter Starcke believes that each divided body we right up to the point where
they excluded the wisdom of the Other. Drawing this into the context of the
world the are divisions between spiritual and material, inner and outer, he
urges that we need to integrate the two, both within ourselves and within
the world. As long as we separate the Christ from the human, the divine from
the mundane, we cannot move forward. He hightlights the teachings that underpins
Christianity and made it so popular and quick to spread; this was the fact
that Jesus was human with identical temptations and potential. By 'dehumanizing'
Jesus we cut off from our human nature which is the very energy that drives
us to grow into our divine potential. This is a brilliant book for believer
and nonbeliever alike which is thought provoking and resonates with something
deep inside that says YES! He writes from his own personal experience and
it shows. The combination of his knowledge and wisdom finds the cutting edge
within the reader." Stephanie Sorrell, THE SCIENCE OF THOUGHT REVIEW
"So many thanks for It's ALL GOD, this is your best ever. It's a solid, gentle opening to a fresh way of thinking for a lot of people. And it will do wonders for those who feel trapped by the 'authority' of a limited reading of Scripture as promulgated by those in the hierarchy. In your book Scripture becomes alive and vital again, a full guide to a rich and meaningful life." Bob & Megan Harris
"It carries so much power and is so easy to read. It melts in your brain like warm butter in your mouth. It feels so good emotionally and so stimulating mentally. It hits me on all of my senses and teaches me something new via something old, the Bible." Helen Lowery
"I am awestruck by it's simplicity and clarity, and the way Starcke has cut through layers upon layers of complexity and theology. This book is the equivalent of a major archeological find."
"This book is so powerful that I wonder that it doesn't vibrate of the table! So many truths! This book should be in the hands of everyone. It strikes a note deep inside of me. Scriptures literally come alive with your interpretation. I can understand what I have been reading all my life." Joan Nowery
"Starcke's perspective, appropriately, is probing, polished and nurturing. "The turning point came for me when I realized that I was not a man of God or a man of earth, but both.' He explores the two Christianities. One that views the Bible literally, drawing from the first three Gospels, missing symbolism. And another which was attracted to Jesus' mysticism. Starcke doesn't fall into the competitive trap of choosing one. Similar nonjudgmental, egalitarian approaches to other scripture give this book a freedom just right for the New Age. Not a Western focus, but a global perspective that adds to consciousness...Comtemporary and stimulating." The Book Reader
"In the preface of his book It’s All God, Walter Starcke states that he “has no desire to invent a new philosophy or religion or to refute any that presently exist…. Everyone is attending the right church, studying the right teaching, and learning the lessons they are ready to learn in the process of discovering what works for them in their present state of consciousness.” That said, Starcke, in a conversational, narrative style, relates his own search for truth.
He begins the book by exploring the roots of Christianity. He may alienate some readers from the onset by referring to Judeo-Christian tradition as a “myth,” although he assures the reader that he is in no way reducing it to the level of fantasy. “Its [Judeo-Christian tradition] substance is grounded on actual experiences from which, in time, the central meanings or consciousness has been extracted,” he explains.
Starcke then delves into what he calls “practical mysticism” through which he teaches the necessity of inclusiveness and creating his own reality through imagination, perception, and projection. Surprisingly, Starcke quotes from the Bible frequently throughout the book, often reinterpreting it to suit his purposes. Those who are researching mystical and metaphysical teachings will find the book an interesting and informative read.
Starcke, a
former successful Broadway director and producer, is the author of several
metaphysical books. He left the Broadway scene on a search for spiritual meaning
and has traveled around the world five times, spending time in Zen monasteries,
among others, and visiting many world spiritual leaders. Now in his eighties,
Starcke lives on his ranch outside of San Antonio, Texas, where he continues
to study and write."
